Earth911 Podcast: Yoram Bauman on the Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change

Yoram Bauman is the world’s only standup economist as well as co-author, with illustrator Grady Klein, of the second edition of The Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change. He also co-created cartoon introductions to economics, calculus, and digital ethics. Climate change is profoundly serious and becomes more disturbing with every report of extreme weather and record-breaking heat domes. But The Cartoon Guide makes the science and politics of climate understandable and engaging.

Yoram discusses the importance of putting a carbon price to create incentives for climate action and how to bring more people into the public debate about the way forward. When not doing standup comedy or economics, Yoram has worked to pass Washington Initiative 732, which called for a carbon tax, in 2016. He’s launched an initiative campaign to Clean the Darned Air in Utah, his new home. You can learn more about Yoram at standupeconomist.com. The Cartoon Guide to Climate Change is available now at Amazon and Powell’s Books.
